Honey Apple Pie

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs. apples, peeled, cored and sliced

  • 2/3 cup honey

  • 3 tbsp. flour

  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • Two 9" pie crusts

DIRECTIONS

Line a 9”-deep dish pie plate with crust. Set aside.

Combine apples, honey, lemon juice, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a bowl and toss lightly to coat all apples.

Pour apples into pie crust and dot top with butter.

Cover with remaining pie crust and seal edges. Cut a hole in middle of top crust or cut several slits around pie to vent.

Loosely cover edges of pie crust with foil.

Bake in a convection oven on low fan for 20 minutes, remove foil and continue to bake for approximately an additional 20 minutes until crust is nicely browned.
